Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert: Mock the Vote
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert: Mock the Vote:
I keep hearing that [Sarah Palin]‘s “like us.” There’s this idea that people who hunt and have “good” values are somehow this mythological American; I don’t know who “this” person is, I’ve never met them. She is no more typical “us” than I am, than Obama is, than McCain is, than Mr. T is. If there is something quintessentially or authentically American about her, I sort of feel like, you know what? You “good values people” have had the country for eight years, and done an unbelievably s—-ty job. Let’s find some bad values people and give them a shot, maybe they’ll have a better take on it.
What Is This Place?
Opus is a website masquerading as a blog masquerading as a webzine. It’s where I (Jason Morehead) write about music, movies, art, web design, religion and whatever else interests me at the time (Read More).

Careful what you wish for?
I want to be way more impressed with Palin than I actually am. I wish McCain was as calm and collected when addressing an audience as Obama. There are a multitude of things I wish were better about the Republican ticket this year, and the party in general. But the simple fact remains, I disagree with the democratic nominee on almost all the issues. I can’t vote for that.
I live in Tennessee and work in an industrial town of 6,000 people (no movie theater and the police department opens at noon.) There are thousands of Palin-esque people in this country, let me guarantee you. They’re all about God ‘n country and making sure a Muslim isn’t President. (their words, not mine.)
