Sufjan invites you on an “Astral Inter Planet Space Captain Christmas Infinity Voyage”

Over the years, Sufjan Stevens has recorded Christmas albums for friends and family members. The first five albums were released in 2006’s excellent Songs For Christmas box set. I’ve no idea if 2006 and 2007’s albums have made it outside Sufjan’s circle, but 2008’s album—Astral Inter Planet Space Captain Christmas Infinity Voyage—has recently begun making its way through the blogosphere. Here’s the tracklist:

You can listen to the very lovely “Christmas In The Room” via Drive By Media and “Good King Wenceslas”—which sounds like Sufjan has been listening a lot of Joy Electric lately—courtesy of Sounds Familyre, which have included the song in their 2008 “A Familyre Christmas” compilation.
