The “M.A.G.I.C.” of The Sound of Arrows

Labrador Records is back with the excellent musical freebies. This time, it’s the title track from The Sound of Arrows’ upcoming EP, M.A.G.I.C. (due out 1/28).

The Sound of Arrows has gathered a young chanting school class, a girl singer from Tokyo and a handful of well hidden un-cleared samples which they’ve mixed with bouncy analogue synthesizers, soulful guitars and orchestral instruments over a hundred recording channels. The result is a marvellous mix of old TV shows for children, old school hip-hop, new disco and timeless pop hits!

You can download the track—which sounds like the best mash-up of The Go! Team and Saint Etienne that never was—here. You can also watch a short intro video that, in all of its nostalgic (and possibly “un-cleared”) glory, introduces the EP.
